Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau Wants Visitors 'Dancin' in Their Seats and Driving in Our Streets' with $50 Gas Card, Ad Campaign

DETROIT, June 9 -- The Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau (DMCVB) invites Midwesterners to gas up and put more mojo and muscle in their trip to Motown this summer with a free $50 gas card as part of a package to entice travelers to stay a second night in metro Detroit. The DMCVB's promotion is among the highest value gas card offers currently available.

Whether they come to see the Motown Historical Museum or another metro Detroit summer event, festival or exhibit, the gas card is included with a minimum two-night stay at participating metro Detroit hotels.

The gas card promotion is an enhancement to the DMCVB summer leisure advertising program which started May 15 in Grand Rapids, Mich.; Columbus, Ohio; and London, Ontario to help create more activity for the DMCVB's online hotel packaging program.

The program will be promoted through a 30-second television ad and print advertising in Grand Rapids and Columbus -- both just a few hours' drive from metro Detroit. Hotel packages are the focus of the DMCVB's summer leisure advertising campaign.
