Nevada Signs Traffic.com to Expand Network of Digital Traffic Sensors in Las Vegas

WAYNE, Pa.--May 5, 2006--Traffic.com, Inc. , a leading provider of accurate, real-time traffic information in the United States, today announced the signing of an agreement with the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) that will allow the expansion of a network of digital roadside traffic sensors along Las Vegas area expressways.

These new sensors and Traffic.com's other collection technologies will supplement the data provided by public agencies through the Freeway and Arterial System of Transportation (FAST) and provide vital traffic information such as incident and accident reports, vehicle speeds, congestion levels, and travel times to Las Vegas drivers. With this expanded sensor network, millions of local drivers will be able to personalize and save their daily commutes or travel routes by visiting www.traffic.com. Additionally, users can receive personalized traffic reports via the Company's my traffic.com suite of traffic service options, which include phone, Web, mobile and on-demand reports and alerts. These alerts deliver free, real-time, customized traffic information to drivers - when, where and as often as they need it.

"Our state-of-the-art traffic congestion information system will enable Las Vegas drivers to receive the dependable and convenient traffic solutions they need to manage the traffic they are facing each day," said David L. Jannetta, president of Traffic.com. "By partnering with the Nevada DOT and working with the participating agencies of FAST, we are continuing to build upon a proven technology model that collects real-time, lane-by-lane traffic speed and volume-usable traffic information that can help ease growing congestion and fuel costs."

Traffic.com uses this sensor data to create and distribute reports and incident/event information to Traffic.com's broadcast media affiliates, commercial customers, and to the public through its Web site at www.traffic.com. Traffic.com delivers this vital traffic information to Las Vegas residents through its affiliation with KTNV-TV Channel 13, an ABC station.

According to the 2005 Urban Mobility Report issued by the Texas Transportation Institute, traffic congestion cost Las Vegas area drivers $380 million in 2003. The city was recently selected by the United States Department of Transportation to participate in the Transportation Technology Innovation and Demonstration (TTID) Program. Under this legislation, Traffic.com is building and operating 27 integrated systems of digital traffic information in major metropolitan areas across the country for the provision of comprehensive, accurate, and real-time traffic information.

The expanded sensor system will be installed at no cost to the state or local governments. Traffic.com will pay for the construction, operational costs, and ongoing maintenance of the sensors, and will also reinvest a portion of the revenue to expand the system.

The real-time, lane-by-lane traffic speed and volume data collected by the new sensors will be integrated with the data currently collected by FAST to help improve work zone safety, crash responses, and highway operations. Traffic.com is planning to deploy these sensors along major expressways in the Las Vegas region, including the I-515, I-215, and I-15.
