Washington DC April 19, 2006; The AIADA newsletter reported that the compact vehicle segment is continuing to set records in J.D. Power and Associates' Power Information Network (PIN) retained value measurement, earning a 10.1 percent increase in the 2005/2006 comparison produced by Auto Remarketing; futhermore, breaking its own record for the sixth consecutive month and topping all other segments in retained value measurement for the 16th straight month.

The PIN Retained Value, developed by PIN, offers ratings on the retained values of new vehicles after three years of ownership. The PIN Retained Value rating measures vehicle depreciation by dividing the wholesale value of a used vehicle at retail-ready condition by the transaction price of the same vehicle when sold new three years ago.
