Phoenix-Area Student Receives Ultimate Ride Home from School

h4 align=center>NASCAR Star Carl Edwards Drives Car Pool for the Day DELRAY BEACH, FL - April 19, 2006: The concept of a cool ride has taken on a whole new meaning for Phoenix-area sixth grader Kevin Fry. Today, Fry and his friends will get a ride home from school in a Ford Fusion driven by NASCAR driver Carl Edwards. Fry's mother Paula was selected from more than 100,000 entries in the Valpak, NASCAR on TNT Coolest Ride to School sweepstakes courtesy of Office Depot .

In addition to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a passenger in Edwards' car, Fry will introduce his new superstar friend to the Boulder Creek Elementary student body during a special all-school assembly. The Office Depot No. 99 Ford Fusion that Edwards drives in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series will also be on display at the school.

"It's a great opportunity to be able to go to this school and talk to the kids and the teachers," Edwards said. "It's going to be a really special day for me and I hope for the entire school as well."

Edwards, a former substitute teacher and current Ambassador for Youth for National PTA, is committed to improving the lives of children, as well as urging parents and families to be more involved in their kids' schools.

"Carl's experience inside and outside of the classroom makes him a fantastic ambassador for children, educators and parents," said Tony Ueber, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Office Depot. "We are delighted to be a part of such a fun and memorable experience for Boulder Creek Elementary School."

"This will be an experience that my children will remember forever," said Valpak and TNT sweepstakes winner Fry. "But this is not just a win for our family, but for our school as well. Having the No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion at school will be a huge thrill for all the students. I couldn't be more thrilled to be bringing this opportunity to Boulder Creek Elementary."

"With all of the cool not-to-be-missed NASCAR moments that take place on TNT each season, we were excited to serve as one of the driving forces of the promotion," said Jeff Gregor, Senior Vice President of Sports Marketing and Programming for TNT and TBS. "The sweepstakes was not only a great marketing vehicle, but also a unique opportunity to connect race fans with one of the coolest drivers on the track."

"In addition to the great savings consumers find monthly in their blue Valpak envelope, we like to add the element of surprise," said Melissa Fisher, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Valpak/Cox Target Media. "Valpak is proud to partner with TNT and Office Depot to award something so memorable -- the most coveted carpool experience in the world -- to Paula and her lucky son Kevin."

Rules of the Road

Valpak distributed 43 million specially designed blue envelopes to drive sweepstakes entries and encourage NASCAR fans to tune into TNT's NASCAR programming. TNT supported the program with on-air promotions during each of the network's summer races, while Office Depot promoted the chance to win the enviable escort in store and via its Sunday insert. In addition to the cool ride grand prize, Office Depot awarded second and third prize packages including a behind-the-scenes NASCAR race trip for two and five $1,000 Office Depot shopping sprees.
