Special Report from The Jerusalem Post

Tel Aviv Israel April 15, 2006; Derek Fattal writing for the Jerusalem Post reported that Automotor 2006 kicked into high gear on Friday at the Tel Aviv Exhibition Grounds. The motoring extravaganza - which continues until Tuesday evening - is set to be the largest trade exhibition ever held in Israel.

The stars of the show include the majestic Rolls Royce Phantom, the eye-catching Mercedes SLR, Lamborghini's cabriolet, and the Mercedes-McClaren Formula 1 racer.

Both Mercedes and Subaru have invested in special pavilions, with Mercedes providing a replica of the first Daimler-Benz horseless carriage. The BMW chain offers a first glimpse at the new Z4 cabriolet and coupe models, while Lexus has created waves ahead of its forthcoming market debut in Israel by presenting a line up that includes the stunning CS 430 coupe-cabriolet.

Mazda, Ford, Toyota, and Volvo are offering local audiences a hint of what the future holds with their imaginative concept vehicles, while Peugeot is showcasing the new 407 coupe and the 207 supermini. Other offerings include Alfa Romeo's striking 159 model, Jaguar's XK, and interesting new collections from Kia, Hyundai and Skoda.

This year's Automotor is 25 percent larger than the previous event held in 2004, and includes a variety of attractions, including the market's latest 4x4 vehicles, over 200 motorbikes, driving simulators, pit stop competitions, food booths, audio equipment and accessories stalls, that will keep families fully entertained for the better part of a day.
