General Motors Recognizes John L. Sullivan Chevrolet as 2005 GM Certified Used Vehicles National Sales Leader


SACRAMENTO, CA – March 31, 2006: General Motors announced yesterday that John L. Sullivan Chevrolet of Roseville, Calif., is the 2005 GM Certified Used Vehicles National Sales Leader award winner. The award recognizes the nation’s top-selling dealership in 2005 sales of GM Certified Used Vehicles.

John L. Sullivan Chevrolet, which sold 1,575 GM Certified Used Vehicles in 2005, has been a top-selling GM Certified dealership since joining the program in 1998, and has been the GM Certified Used Vehicles national sales leader in seven of the previous eight years. GM Certified Used Vehicles, the nation’s top-selling manufacturer-certified brand, sold an industry-leading 455,498 units in 2005*, establishing a new all-time annual sales mark in the certified pre-owned category for the fourth consecutive year.

GM also announced the following 2005 GM Certified Used Vehicles Regional Sales Leader Award winners: North Central region, Gandrud Chevrolet, Green Bay, Wis.; Northeast region, Valley Chevrolet, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; Southeast region, Maroone Chevrolet, Pembroke Pines, Fla.; and South Central region, Reliable Chevrolet, Springfield, Mo.

“The GM Certified Used Vehicles program is extremely valuable to our dealership,” said David Rodgers, senior vice president and general manager, John L. Sullivan Chevrolet. “The new car business can be quite cyclical, the certified used business is less so and provides a measure of stability for our business.”

Owner John L. Sullivan started in the automobile business in 1963 and has owned the dealership for more than 25 years. He is currently a member of the Roseville New Car Dealers Association, the Sacramento New Car Dealers Association, the California Motor Car Dealers Association and the National Automobile Dealers Association. Sullivan has received many awards within the automobile industry, including the prestigious Leadership Award, presented by former GM Chairman Jack Smith to recognize excellence in sales performance and customer satisfaction. Sullivan is a leader in the local community as well, contributing to and serving on numerous local charity committees.
