$10,000 Gift from Nissan Helps to Provide Shelter for Victims of Abuse

DALLAS--March 27, 2006--Nissan North America donated $10,000 to Brighter Tomorrows, an organization that provides services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in North Texas. The donation was part of Nissan's Presenting Sponsorship for this years tenth annual Chocolate and Chic Luncheon and Fashion Show fundraiser at Lone Star Park that benefits Brighter Tomorrows. The guest speaker for this year's event was Denise Brown, Chairman of the Board for the Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation that works to eradicate family and partner violence.

"Community support, as demonstrated by the considerable contribution from Nissan, has been tremendous this year," said Jana Barker, executive director of Brighter Tomorrows. "This donation will allow Brighter Tomorrows to continue providing services and emergency shelter for those in need."

Brighter Tomorrow's services are free to everyone looking for a safe haven from physical or sexual abuse. Last year in Texas alone, 114 women died at the hands of their abuser.

"It's critical these victims have somewhere to turn when they need life-saving help," said Steve Lambert, President of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation. "We are proud to do our part in making sure these shelters are there when someone needs them."
