Detroit - March 18, 2006: As car models are upgraded every year to include the latest technology, auto technicians are also improving their knowledge. General Motors officials say the average new car has an estimated 24 computer systems, so technicians undergo various technology sessions to stay in the know. Car experts say high school and college students are heavily recruited to participate in programs such as the Automotive Youth Educational Systems – a course that prepares student for complex technical work.
