New Toyota Camry Sales in Japan hit 4,000

TOKYO March 3, 2006; Japan Today reported that Toyota Motor Corp said Thursday that cumulative sales of its fully redesigned Camry midsize sedan in Japan have reached around 4,000 units in 30 days, four times the automaker's initial sales target. Toyota released the remolded sedan on Jan 30. The sales figure was compiled through the end of February.

The new Camry is equipped with a 2.4-liter engine, with a suggested retail prices of between 2.48 million yen and 3.36 million yen. The new model includes a roomier interior, achieved by stretching the space between the front and rear seats, Toyota said.
