Fuel-cell bus service to start around Centrair airport

NAGOYA February 28, 2006; Japan Today reported that Toyota Motor Corp and its subsidiary Hino Motors Ltd said Monday an Aichi Prefecture bus company will start operating an environmentally friendly fuel-cell bus they have developed at Centrair International Airport near Nagoya on March 9.

Fuel-cell vehicles do not pollute the environment as they draw electricity for propulsion from the chemical reaction between oxygen and hydrogen in their on-board tanks, with the reaction's sole by-product being water.
