KVH Maintaining Focus on Superior Product, Prices, and Service in Mobile Satellite TV Market Despite Harassing Claims

MIDDLETOWN, R.I.--Feb. 13, 2006--KVH Industries, Inc., today acknowledged the filing of a patent infringement lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota by Electronic Controlled Systems, Inc., d/b/a King Controls.

The suit is related litigation filed by the same plaintiff against KVH in the same court in May 20, 200605. The patent asserted in this suit, which is also asserted in the prior suit, relates generally to a satellite dish system controlled to acquire a satellite signal.

"We compete aggressively in the mobile satellite TV market based on price, innovative technology, and product quality," said Martin Kits van Heyningen, president and chief executive officer of KVH Industries. "King Controls, on the other hand, has resorted to harassment through litigation against KVH, a pioneer in the mobile satellite marketplace. We will continue to defend ourselves vigorously and fully expect to prevail in this matter. Despite King Controls' attempts to avoid competition and distract the marketplace, we will not waver in our commitment to maintaining and strengthening our proven leadership position by offering the superior product value, performance, and support our customers have come to expect based on the more than 100,000 mobile satellite antennas produced and sold by KVH Industries for more than a decade."
