Production Also Commences at Housing Plant in Southern California

RIVERSIDE, Calif., Feb. 1 -- Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. , a leading producer of recreational vehicles and manufactured housing, announced today the re-opening of its Edgerton, Ohio, plant. The plant will initially manufacture travel trailers for orders placed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as part of the agency's disaster relief plan in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The plant will then transition to producing Prowler, Wilderness and Terry products.

The Edgerton plant was originally opened in 1969 and closed in December 2004. Fleetwood plans to hire 150 associates with plans to grow to 200 associates within the year.

"We are extremely pleased to re-open our Edgerton facility, allowing us to not only meet growing demand, but to also bring jobs back to the area," said Elden L. Smith, president and chief executive officer of Fleetwood Enterprises. "This plant has a history of more than 30 years of quality work and we look forward to continuing that success."

In addition, the Company's previously announced new plant in Perris, California, is now producing manufactured homes, the first of which will be completed this Friday. A new product line, which was introduced specifically for production at the Perris plant, complements the product offering at the nearby plant in Riverside, California. Under the direction of the Riverside facility's management team with a separate production management team, the Perris plant has approximately 100 employees. The Perris plant will supplement Fleetwood's capacity at its Riverside and Glendale, Arizona, facilities, allowing further participation in the Southwest's healthy manufactured housing market.
