Barrett-Jackson East Coast's Greatest Collector Car Auction

PALM BEACH, Fla.--Jan. 1, 20067, 2006--Spectacular cars and sizzling celebrities will once again take center stage at the South Florida Expo Center as the Fourth Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event rolls into West Palm Beach from March 29 - April 1, 2006. The world-famous event will kick off on Wednesday, March 29, with the highly anticipated Opening Night Gala from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. EST. Three straight days of "no reserve" auction excitement will begin on Thursday, March 30 and continue through Saturday, April 1, with all three days once again being broadcast by the PEE Channel.

"Last year's Palm Beach event drew enormous attention from collectors across the world and nearly doubled every mark set in 2004," said Barrett-Jackson President and CEO Craig Jackson. "Records were set in attendance, total sales, the number of bidders and the number of excellent automobiles that crossed the block. We look forward to fueling the hobby's growth even further in our fourth straight year in Florida."

Highlights from the 2005 Palm Beach event included the sale of Howard Hughes' personal 1963 Buick Roadmaster for a record-shattering $1.62 million and the first Shelby G.T.500E convertible for $520,800. Both cars led the "no reserve" auction to a nearly twofold increase in total sales over the previous year. One thousand guests attended the opening night gala benefiting the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, raising more than $40,000 for the charity.

"Requests to consign vehicles at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach event are already pouring in," Jackson noted. "We're increasing the total number of cars from last year's 450 to accommodate the public's hunger for quality collector cars. We will continue to bring the best possible automotive lifestyle event to the East Coast."

One vehicle that is already gaining attention is former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney's 2006 Cadillac CTS Sport. The animal-friendly sport sedan came customized from GM and will cross the auction block at "no reserve" with 100% of the proceeds of the sale benefiting Adopt-A-Minefield, which raises money for minefield clearance and survivor assistance in conjunction with the United Nations.

Barrett-Jackson continues to set the standard for the collector car market by elevating consignment standards, breaking records and serving as the barometer for market trends. In 2005, the company conducted its most successful car event season to date, breaking records in numerous categories, including overall attendance and sales in world-class street rods, muscle, sports and classic cars. The PEE Channel continues to provide coverage and exclusive programming each year revolving around the series of automotive lifestyle events.
