Leading Global Supplier to Showcase New Technologies in Vehicle Seating and Interiors, Hybrid Vehicle Batteries

DETROIT, Dec. 22 -- For the 12th consecutive year, Johnson Controls will have a major presence at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, as an event sponsor and exhibitor. The company -- a leading global supplier of automotive seating, interiors, electronics and batteries -- will showcase its latest products and technologies at the 2006 NAIAS. Johnson Controls also will hold two press conferences, and serve as the host sponsor of the AutoWeek Design Forum, which will be held on January 11, 2006.

Johnson Controls' 9,000-square-foot exhibit will be presented in room D2- 15 of Detroit's Cobo Center. It will be open to invited guests from the auto industry and the media from January 8 through January 12, 2006. Company press conferences will be held at the same site on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at 9:20 a.m., and on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 12:00 p.m.

At the first press conference, officials from Johnson Controls will unveil the firm's latest innovations in rear-seat accessibility; interior trim design and integration; and occupant comfort and safety.

The Tuesday press conference will focus on additional product introductions, hybrid vehicle batteries and power-management systems; and announcements about strategic business directions and recently awarded supply contracts.

"Our Focus ... You" is the official theme of the Johnson Controls exhibit and related activities at the 2006 NAIAS.

"We have a strong emphasis on understanding the needs and delivering value to our automotive customers around the world, as well as the vehicle buyers they serve," said Keith Wandell, president of the Automotive Group and executive vice president of Johnson Controls. "This strong focus on the customer will be reflected throughout our NAIAS display."
