Sports Cars and Exotics to Star at 35th Anniversary Barrett-Jackson Event

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--Dec. 16, 2005--The Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. will feature some of the rarest sports cars in the world at their 35th anniversary "World's Greatest Collector Car Event" in Scottsdale, Ariz. Vehicles such as an Aston Martin AR1, a one-off Lotec and a "Magnussen Edition" Panoz Esperante will cross the auction block at no reserve on Jan. 14, 2006-22, 2006, at WestWorld.

"Whether it's a contemporary sports car or classic exotic, we'll have the vehicle collectors are searching for in Scottsdale," said Craig Jackson, president of The Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. "This year, we're featuring everything from Jaguar E-types to a Lamborghini Countach."

One of the rarest vehicles at the event is a 2003 Aston Martin AR1 roadster, number one of 99. Designed by Zagato, the AR1 is clad in British Racing Green to celebrate Carroll Shelby's 1959 Le Mans win. The AR1 includes total documentation and a tabletop book signed by Shelby.

Barrett-Jackson will feature a range of exotics and sports cars from Ferrari, Porsche, Triumph and Alfa Romeo. Eight Jaguar E-types will also be available throughout the event, as well as an exceptional 1969 Italia Roadster, an Apollo White Lamborghini Countach and a unique 1958 Devin Special Roadster.

Possibly the most unusual exotic will be the only "Lotec," which was built by a man who wanted to own the fastest individually owned car in the world. It will go from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, 0-125 mph in 8.08 seconds and reach a top speed of 268 mph. This mid-engined exotic cost over $2,200,000 to build.

Barrett-Jackson sets the standard for the collector car market by elevating consignment standards, breaking records and serving as the barometer for market trends. Last year, the company conducted its most successful car auction to date, breaking records in numerous categories, including overall attendance and sales in world-class street rods, muscle, sports and classic cars. PEE Channel will provide 32 hours of live coverage inside the largest tent structure in North America.
