San Francisco 49ers And Cadillac Teamed Up At The 48th San Francisco International Auto Show

One-of-a-kind customized San Francisco 49ers Escalade Unveiled November 18

San Francisco, Calif. - Fans of the San Francisco 49ers and automotive enthusiasts alike received an early holiday present when the one-of-a-kind customized San Francisco 49ers Cadillac Escalade was unwrapped for its world debut at the 48th Annual San Francisco International Auto Show. The unique vehicle was unveiled by Cadillac with the help of 49ers player Mike Rumph at the 2006 San Francisco International Auto Show's VIP Night, November 18, 2005, and will be displayed at Moscone Convention Center throughout the show's public days, November 19-27, 2005.

A 2006 model Cadillac Escalade was transformed into a work of art inspired by the 49ers' legacy and team colors. The vehicle was created as the grand prize for the "49ers Kick to Drive" Kicking Contest held over nine pre-season and regular season home games. In August 2005, the 49ers and General Motors (GM) signed a three-year agreement making GM (Chevrolet, Cadillac and HUMMER) the new official and exclusive vehicle of the San Francisco 49ers.

"The 49ers Escalade presents a great opportunity to further enhance our fan experience," said David Peart, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the San Francisco 49ers. "The chance to win this customized vehicle is going to create a lot of excitement among the team's followers."

"This one-of-a-kind Escalade is a very exciting way to pair up the 49ers fans' lifestyle with one of our greatest products," said Mike Jackson, General Manager for General Motors' Western region. "True to the underlining concept of our 'Find Your Style' campaign, we had the ultimate 49ers fan in mind when we customized the 49ers Escalade with unique exterior and interior touches."

The most striking aspect of the 49ers Escalade is the unique paint job that blends a creative mix of 49ers team colors in a chameleon-like fashion. A bold, chiseled exterior is fronted by a specialty grille featuring a 49ers logo and "49ers Edition" badging. Red painted calipers accent 20-inch chrome wheels with 49ers branded wheel caps.

Extra exterior chrome touches can be found from the exhaust tip to the fuel door and from the mirror caps to the door handles. Color-matched running boards and "Escalade" door inserts completes the outer transformation.

The interior strikes a chord with a red leather-wrapped steering wheel and red suede inserts on luxurious, shale leather heated seats with 14-way power adjustments, power side bolsters and power lumbar support. The headrests and the floor mats have been embroidered with the 49ers logo. Two nine-inch headrest monitors operate the installed Xbox video game system that comes loaded with Madden NFL 06. A wireless remote operates the Cadillac's DVD entertainment system.

The 49ers Escalade is also fully equipped with a premium nine-speaker Bose sound system with in-dash six-disc changer, sunroof, stylish instrument cluster with bright chrome rings around gauges and an analog clock fashioned by Italian jewelry designer Bvlgari, XM Satellite Radio, DVD navigation system and OnStar.

Under the hood, the world's most powerful full-size SUV* features a best-in-class Vortec 6000 6.0L V-8 engine pumping 345 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 380 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. (* Based on horsepower and 7-passenger seating capacity.)

The 49ers Cadillac Escalade was upfitted by Canyon Motors Limited in Los Angeles.

Few vehicles have generated as much buzz as the Escalade in recent years. A leader in the luxury SUV market, the Escalade symbolizes Cadillac's commitment to bold, breakthrough products and has proven popular with professional athletes, musicians, movie stars and automotive enthusiasts.
