Forbes published a rather brief look at the Mercedes-Benz SLK and BMW
Z4 today.

If you don't want to know the findings of the article, then don't
read any further. According to the author, "Neither the SLK nor the
Z4 is inherently better than the other."

In other words, the article really doesn't compare the two vehicles
at all, other than lightly touching on sales figures, horsepower, and
pricing - all of which Mercedes has the higher numbers.

But in all fairness to BMW, I don't think it's reasonable to compare
the $34,800 Z4 to the $62,275 SLK55 AMG, which the author did on a
few occassions. If you're going to compare the two vehicles, I think
it's at least necessary to compare the SLK 280 alone to the Z4. When
the new BMW Z4 M Roadster is released, that will be an entirely
different story.

That being said, the SLK 280 still outnumbers and outperforms the Z4
across the board, albeit at a slightly higher price tag. See Forbes,
it's not that difficult to declare who the real victor is.
