Hot Wheels(R) Booth at SEMA Offers Much More Than Die-Cast; Customized Cars, Celebs and New Branded Aftermarket Products All on Display at the Biggest Automotive Aftermarket Show of the Year

LAS VEGAS--Oct. 3, 20051, 2005--Mattel, Inc.:
WHAT:         Hot Wheels(R) returns to the annual Specialty Equipment 
              Market Association's (SEMA) convention in Las Vegas with
              an array of new products and merchandise. As the iconic 
              brand enters the foray of the automotive aftermarket
              with real life car kits, designer wheels, candy paint 
              and other custom products, consumers will be able to 
              transform their rides into full 1:1-scale Hot Wheels(R) 
              in 2006. These new aftermarket products will be on 
              display, along with new die-cast models from the 2006 
              collector and Dropstars(TM) lines, and specially 
              designed booth cars (see below for details). 
              Celebrity guests will be on hand for a number of signing
              and photo opportunities, and commemorative SEMA 2005 
              Edition 1:64-scale Hot Wheels(R) cars will be given away
              to booth visitors.

                 completely reworked with a Hot Wheels(R)/JCP Metal GT
                 Wide Body Kit, Custom Hot Wheels(R) PPG candy green
                 paint, three Nitrous Express Tanks wired to squeeze, 
                 a Turbonetics Stage 4 Turbo and more.

              -- 2006 Ford Mustang GT -- Featuring a Hot 
                 Wheels(R)/Carbon Creations Carbon Fiber Wide Body 
                 Kit, Custom Hot Wheels(R) PPG candy blue paint, 
                 Carbon Fiber Status bucket racing seats, Hot 
                 Wheels(R) suede door inserts, a Vortech Engineering
                 Supercharger and more.

              -- '57 Chevy Nomad -- A work of truly postmodern, 
                 automotive art from two legendary designers, the 
                 Nomad is an updated design from Bruce Schultz,
                 incorporating elements Hot Wheels(R) designer Larry 
                 Wood created for the die-cast version of Bruce's 
                 original car. Bruce was so inspired by Larry's 
                 modifications, he updated his own car to reflect 
                 them.
