Yazaki North America Appoints Riku Yazaki as Head of its Components Business Unit

CANTON, Mich., Oct. 26, 2005 -- Yazaki North America, Inc. (Yazaki), a leading supplier of vehicle power and data solutions to the automotive industry, announced today the appointment of Riku Yazaki as president of its Components Business Unit. Mr. Yazaki is the grandson of Yazaki Corporation founder Sadami Yazaki. George Perry, president and CEO of Yazaki North America, made the announcement.

As president, Mr. Yazaki will oversee all aspects of Components Business Unit operations including product design and development, quality assurance, and cost maintenance of such Yazaki components as connectors and terminals. Mr. Yazaki was previously the president of the company's General Motors Business Unit.

"Riku's experience internationally and within Yazaki North America brings great value to the Components Business Unit," said Perry. "Additionally, Riku's new role furthers his presence in the company in terms of executive development and leadership succession."

Before coming to North America, Mr. Yazaki held numerous key management roles, including General Manager YC Planning Division, World Wide Strategy (WWS) Director for Yazaki Europe, Director, Thai Yazaki Corporation, Deputy Plant Manager, Shimada Japan Factory-Yazaki Instrument Company and Director of Yazaki EDS Samoa, Ltd.
