Belt-Tech Products Inc., a good example of how Quebec companies in the high-tech textile industry can flourish

GRANBY, Oct. 25, 2005 -- Belt-Tech Products Inc. has completed a major restructuring exercise which has allowed it to save over 120 specialized jobs in the high-tech textile sector in Quebec while maintaining critical know- how in the province. Belt-Tech Products (formerly LaGran Canada Inc.) held it's official opening this morning with many guests from the business community and government in attendance.

"We are very happy with the results of the last few months, declared Belt- Tech's President & CEO and controlling shareholder Mr. Robert J. Belanger. The combination of the financial support from our partners, Montcap Financial Corporation and Investissement Quebec, have made it possible to save many specialized jobs and provide a strong base for our growth. This is a good example of the private sector joining force with the Provincial Government. And it is just the beginning, since we are planning on financial contributions from strategic partner(s) and different government levels to reach our goal to become a global player in both the automotive and the specialized textile sectors" concluded Mr. Belanger.
