Filter Company Wins Second Consecutive 'Spirit of NAPA' Award

ATLANTA--Oct. 2, 20054, 2005--NAPA Filters is celebrating its back-to-back honor as the recipient of the prestigious "Spirit of NAPA" award. Throughout the past 31 years, NAPA AUTO PARTS has recognized a manufacturer that provided the most outstanding service to the organization during the prior year.

While presenting the award earlier this month, NAPA AUTO PARTS President Bob Susor said, "One of the most important requirements for a supplier to the NAPA system is to be able to consistently delivery superior service and order fill. NAPA Filters' consistent performance in service, marketing and sales support resulted in another outstanding year of growth."

64 NAPA Distribution Center general managers throughout the country nominate a supplier for the award based on rigorous selection criteria including line leadership, shipping performance, product quality and effective cataloging, among others. Nominations for NAPA Filters most frequently cited the quality of NAPA Filters' local representatives.

Gordon Curren, senior vice president of customer relationship management for Affinia Group, manufacturer of NAPA Filters, said, "We're fortunate to have a large quantity of individuals who have been with our team and NAPA for quite some time. This longevity is noticeable in their knowledge of the customer, the parts and the industry overall."

Approximately 3,000 employees in manufacturing, distribution, product management and marketing support NAPA Filters from locations in Gastonia, N.C. and Dillon, S.C.

This is the sixth time that NAPA Filters received the award. The achievement ties NAPA Filters for the most all-time awards alongside NAPA Brakes and Chassis.
