Kosky, Manzo Pick Up Wins in Division Finale at Atco

	ATCO, N.J. - Mike Kosky in Top Alcohol Dragster and Frank Manzo
in Top Alcohol Funny Car grabbed big wins at the NHRA Northeast Division
Final Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Atco Raceway. 
	Kosky of Cuddy, Pa., scored his first win of the season with a
pass of 5.718 seconds at 214.66 mph over Rich McPhillips in his first
final round appearance of the year. McPhillips had problems during his
run and slowed to a 6.314 second, 156.43 mph run.
	Morganville, N.J., racer Manzo grabbed his seventh win of the
year in taking out No. 3 qualifier Bruce Peterson with a lap of 5.769
seconds at 256.06 mph to Peterson's 6.016 at 223.95 mph.
	The win increased Manzo's points total in both the national and
divisional standings but point's leader Bob Newberry also won this
weekend at the NHRA Southeast Division Lucas Oil Series event at Silver
Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, Ga. The win locks Manzo into a second place
finish in the Northeast Division and should place him second or third
nationally. 
	Comp Eliminator racer Michael Hardee of Wilmington, N.C., took
out Frank Aragona Jr., with an 8.633 second pass at 144.14 mph and Larry
Miller Jr. won in Super Stock with a 10.052 second pass in his '70
Barracuda over Sam Biondo.
	Billy Pires won in Stock Eliminator in his '97 Firebird covering
the quarter-mile in 10.656 seconds at 115.89 mph over Dean Ribeiro. In
Super Comp it was Chris Depascale of Parlin, N.J., over John Maggiulli
Jr. of Chester, N.J., and Iggie Boicesco won in Super Gas with a 10.002,
163.29 mph lap to Ron Dolansky's loosing 9.868 at 148.10 mph. 
	Rounding out the Atco Raceway winners was Lynn Hoosigian of
Newington, Conn., in Super Street over Carl Juliano. Hoosigian's '66
Chevelle took the win when Juliano fouled at the starting line.
