Cruz Pedregon Grabs Third In Vegas
The Advance Auto Parts Nitro Funny Car Awaits Round One

LAS VEGAS (Oct. 22, 2005) ­ Cruz Pedregon, driver of the Advance Auto Parts
Nitro Funny Car, took home the third-qualifying spot for tomorrow¹s ACDelco
NHRA Nationals at The Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Pedregon maneuvered his Advance Auto Parts entry to a 4.760-second elapsed
time at 324.36 mph. He will take on Whit Bazemore in tomorrow¹s opening
round of competition.

³We are here to qualify well and win races,² said Pedregon, who bounced back
from not qualifying at the Texas Motorplex two weekend¹s ago. ³When you¹re
as close to the edge as we are, you can go over sometimes. The car felt
great on that last run and we¹ve been pretty consistent this weekend. We
feel good about our chances for tomorrow.
