Goodyear Names Pierre Jambon General Manager, Global Aviation

AKRON, Ohio, Oct. 20, 2005 -- The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has announced that Pierre Jambon has been named general manager, global aviation. In his new role, Jambon will run the company's global aviation business, overseeing the development, manufacture and marketing of aviation tires for use as original equipment, replacement and military applications. Goodyear is the world's leading supplier of aircraft tires.

Since joining Goodyear in January of 2004, Jambon has served as the director of finance planning and analysis for the North American Tire business unit.

Jambon, 46, has a long career in corporate finance and analysis, occasionally involving aviation-related business. Immediately prior to joining Goodyear, Jambon was vice president, finance planning and analysis for GKN Aerospace Services in Chicago, where he was responsible for the company's operating planning process and evaluation of its business performance.

From 1982 to 2003, Jambon held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility for TRW Inc.

Jambon received his undergraduate degree in business administration from Arizona State University, and his MBA from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He and his family live in Hudson, Ohio. A pilot himself, Jambon received his private pilot's license more than 25 years ago, and is rated for single-engine airplanes.
