UAW and General Dynamics Reach Tentative Agreement on New Contract

DETROIT, Oct. 19, 2005 -- The UAW and General Dynamics have reached tentative agreement on a new contract covering approximately 1,200 UAW- represented workers at General Dynamics facilities in Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania, UAW President Ron Gettelfinger and Vice President Cal Rapson, who directs the union's General Dynamics Dept., announced today.

Details of the new contract are being withheld, pending ratification by UAW-General Dynamics members. Informational and ratification meetings are scheduled for this weekend.

The contract covers members of UAW Local 412 (Units 27 and 28) and UAW Local 1248 in Michigan; UAW Local 1193 in Pennsylvania; and UAW Locals 2075 and 2147 in Ohio.
