Design for Six Sigma 2006: Excelling in Product and Process Development

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--Oct. 1, 20058, 2005--Design for Six Sigma 2006 will take attendees on the next step of their DFSS journey. Attendees will have the opportunity to build upon their already acquired knowledge and continue to reap the benefits of implementing a defect free process. It is recognized that the later the defects are discovered, the higher the cost to correct them. The need for predictive ability is an integral part of the DFSS approach as understood from the perspective of the research and design of products. The challenge facing manufacturers is to realize the majority of the defect levels and quality issues are established during the design phases of a product.

Many companies are now seeing the phenomenal results that can be obtained when they improve their processes. Results from isixsigma magazine reports that large and small companies have made considerable gains, with large companies making "hard" gains of up to $500,000 and "soft" gains of $200,000.

This year's event will focus on key topics such as "Program Behavior Issues," "Evaluation of Synergies," "Revolutionizing the Front End of the DFSS efforts to adapt to ever-changing customer demands" and many more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend a three-hour workshop. This workshop will be presented by Bart Huthwaite, Founder and CEO of the Institute for Lean Innovation. He will divulge the "Secret to Simultaneously Leveraging Lean, Six Sigma and Innovation."

Industry experts such as Rusty Patterson, VP Six Sigma, Raytheon Company; Nathan Soderborg, DFSS Master Black Belt, Ford Motor Company; along with other experts from companies such as Textro, Hewlett-Packard, Mckesson Corporation and many more will come together to provide attendees with an interactive and informative three-day event.

Once again, "Design for Six Sigma 2006" promises to be a success. Attendees can expect to experience high impact, informative presentations delivered by renowned experts within the industry. This two-track event will discuss key issues that are fundamental to DFSS success, which will empower attendees to confidently continue to implement their DFSS processes.
