Mazda Gives Buyers More Choices for Customizing Their Zoom-Zoom

IRVINE, Calif., - For Mazda owners, the ability to create digital music libraries, stream commercial-free content, control the level of bass and the portability of all things audio is as much a part of the driving experience as the power under the hood and the cabin in which they sit. Recognizing that consumers want choices, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has expanded its port- and dealer-installed accessories program to include a complete selection of audio components.

“The PhatBox ® system, along with all our other audio components are yet another way Mazda is maintaining a consistent focus on the customer through innovative technology that delivers the ultimate driving experience,” said Jack Stavana, Mazda director of accessory operations. “The Mazda accessories program continues to be industry-leading, ranking very high in dealer-and customer-satisfaction. Mazda customers love their cars, and Genuine Mazda Accessories provide the ultimate in vehicle self-expression.”

With the 2004 launch of PhatBox Digital Media Players as a dealer-installed accessory, Mazda now provides a full spectrum of solutions to keep customers moving to their own beats. The audio components available to Mazda customers for 2006 vehicles include:

* PhatBox Digital Media Player – Users will be impressed with the simplicity of the interface, designed for control via existing Mazda CD changer controls. Nearly 3,500 song titles can be downloaded onto a single hard-disc memory unit and can be viewed by artist and title, as well as stored and shared between multiple PhatBox units. * BOSE ® Sound Systems – BOSE worked with Mazda to create a sound system that is carefully tuned to match an acoustic blueprint for each vehicle’s cabin space, creating optimum sound quality within the vehicle. BOSE systems are available as a factory-installed option on MAZDA 6 , RX-8 and MX-5 Miata.

* MiniDisc players – A more affordable way to manage a music collection, dealer- and port-installed MiniDisc players offer the technology to hold up to 45 hours of content. In addition, music stored on a MiniDisc is easily shared between car and computer and is still one of the most flexible options available for recording and playing music. * CD/MP3 players – The most popular way to record, transport and listen to music is available in all Mazda vehicles for 2006. * SIRIUS ® satellite radio – Streaming satellite content, from music and entertainment to sports and traffic, SIRIUS content is commercial-free and can be seamlessly installed. * In-dash, single and six-disc CD players – Upgrade the sound system in any Mazda vehicle with available options to match your music listening preference.

Mazda North American Operations is responsible for the sales and marketing, customer parts and service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States. Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., MNAO has more than 700 dealerships nationwide.
