Hyundai Reports New Sales Record for September 2005
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 3, 2005 -- Hyundai Motor America sold 38,214 units during the month of September, posting a nine percent increase compared with a year ago and its best September ever. Hyundai's Accent, Small car segment winner in the 2005 Strategic Vision Total Quality Study, posted its best retail sales month for the year. The Sonata continued to gain momentum with its second month in a row over 10,000 sales. Elantra continued as Hyundai's volume leader with sales of 10,758 units.
"We're very pleased to see Sonata continues to gain momentum as consumers experience its class leading safety, equipment levels, and value," said Ed Bradley, vice-president, National Sales for Hyundai. "Additionally, as consumers look for more fuel efficient vehicles in the face of rising gas prices, Sonata, as well as Accent and Elantra demand continues to rise."
