Porsche Cars North America Reports September 2005 U.S. Sales

ATLANTA, Oct. 3, 2005 -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States and Canada, today announced September retail sales in the United States totaled 2,144 cars, a decrease of 9 percent compared to the same period last year. Total year-to-date sales were 23,808 cars, up 2 percent from the first nine months of last year.

"As a result of two devastating hurricanes, a nationwide surge in fuel prices and intense pressure from predatory discounting, traffic slowed down in our dealerships," said Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA President and CEO. "We are positive customer confidence in the economy will rebound in the short term, not only for our own sake but the industry as a whole."

In addition, dealers sold 443 Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicles compared to 351 for the same period last year.
