ATCO RACEWAY TAKES TEAM HONORS AT NHRA SUMMIT RACING SERIES NORTHEAST
DIVISION FINALS

DELMAR, Del. - The best racers in NHRA's Northeast Division
Summit Racing Series converged on US 13 Dragway this weekend to race for
team and individual honors at the NHRA Summit Racing Series Northeast
Division Finals. Teams representing 14 tracks in the division were made up
of racers in four categories: Super Pro, Heavy, Street and Motorcycle.

The team from Atco Raceway set the pace and took the win with a
total of 97 points. Island Dragway was second with 63 points, just on ahead
of Lebanon Valley Dragway and Cecil County Dragway. Last year's winning
team, Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, finished sixth with 52 points.

Racers in Super Pro, Heavy, Street and Motorcycle raced for a share of the
purse worth more than $46,000 and a chance to compete against the champions
from NHRA's other six regional divisions for a national championship.

In Super, Chris Reynolds of Bear, Del., scored the win over Frank Duplissis
of Flanders, N.J. The Heavy winner, Andrew Bracuto of Clark, N.J., drove
his '83 Firebird around Bud McNasby, Hammonton, N.J. In the Street Class,
Langhorne, Pa., resident Bill Hammitt driving his '05 Trans Am, outlasted
Tom Henon of Lincoln Park, N.J. Barry Stephens of Lafayette, N.J.,
represented the Bike class in the winner's circle after beating Don Hookway
of Flanders in the final.

Drivers who advance to the national title run-off will compete
at the Auto Club of Southern California NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., next
month. Those who compete in Pomona will each receive $3,500 and the
champions in each class will earn a winner-take-all $5,000 purse.

In a race within a race, the RBS Trailer Sales Race of Champions, the top
points-earning drivers from each track went head-to-head. In the only Race
of Champions final that didn't involve a Capitol Raceway competitor, Lebanon
Valley Dragway's Grant Nichols of Marlborough, Conn., beat Joe Cabets of
Throop, Pa., racing for Island Dragway in Super Pro. Atco Raceway's David
Harvey of Berlin, N.J., took the win in Heavy over Capitol Raceway's Ronald
Reiff. Street competitor Bill Mattsson of Old Bridge, N.J., racing for Old
Bridge Twp. Raceway Park beat Crofton, Md., resident Dave Goodd in the final
and in Motorcycle, Numidia Raceway's Joe Wisniewski of Beavertown, Pa.,
scored the victory over Louis Green of Baltimore.

In other racing action, Phil Blazowski from Numidia Raceway beat Raceway
Park's Alison Lee in the Track Operator's race and in the Team Manager's
competition, B.J. Zirke, representing Mason-Dixon Dragway beat Nathan
Etzler, racing for 75-80 Dragway.
