Nissan Gears Up for CORR Championship Finale; Boris Said to Make Off-Road Debut in CORR Titan

SAN DIEGO--Sept. 15, 2005--Nissan driver Chad Hord looks to win his first Pro-Lite Drivers' Championship at the Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) Nissan Off-Road Nationals at the Otay Ranch Off-Road Raceway in Chula Vista, Calif., on September 24-25, 2005. Hord leads the division by six points with two races left. Nissan, like Hord, will also be competing for a championship. Nissan is currently tied for first place in the Pro-Lite Manufacturers' Championship.

Additionally, Nissan today announced that renowned road racer Boris Said will make his off-road racing debut behind the wheel of the new CORR Titan in the Pro-2 division at the Nissan Shootout on October 1-2, 2005 at the Otay Ranch Off-Road Raceway.

"This is a very exciting time for Nissan Motorsports," said Ron Stukenberg, senior manager, Nissan Motorsports marketing and operations. "With Chad Hord going for the Drivers' Championship, Nissan in contention for the Manufacturers' title and Boris Said behind the wheel of the CORR Titan, all eyes will be fixed on Nissan."

Hord has had a dominant race season in 2005 with four first place finishes, including a first place sweep in rounds five and six at Crandon, and a total of eight top-five finishes. After finishing third place in last year's CORR series, Hord expects to finish strong in Chula Vista and take home the Pro-Lite Drivers' Championship this year.

"Whether it's simply a race for a win or a race for a championship, I always try to keep the strategy and the end goal in mind. I try to approach each race with the same focus, not allowing anything to get the best of me," said Hord.

Hord will also drive the Titan in the Pro-2 division race at the Nissan Off-Road Nationals on September 24-25. This will be in addition to his Nissan Frontier Pro-Lite duties.

While Hord is a seasoned off-road racing professional (he began racing in Super Buggy competition in 1999), Said is competing in his first off-road race. Said maintains quite a diverse racing profile, racing in 45 races in nine different series in 2004. Among a diverse list of motorsports involvement, Said drove the Performance Nissan Z(R) to victory in the 2004 GrandAm series, raced in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 1997-1998 and was the first American to ever win the BMW Nurburgring 24 hour race in Germany in May 20, 200505. He has raced on a part-time basis in the NASCAR Nextel Cup series since 1998.

"Based on what we learned from the races in Crandon, we expect that the CORR Titan will perform well in the Chula Vista races and look forward to having Hord and Said behind the wheel at these events," said Stukenberg.
