Ford Credit, Mazda American Credit Offer Payment Deferrals to Victims of Hurricane Dennis

DEARBORN, Mich., July 22 -- Ford Credit and Mazda American Credit are offering customers affected by Hurricane Dennis the opportunity to defer up to two vehicle payments.

Under the Disaster Relief Program, Ford Credit and Mazda American Credit customers have the opportunity to defer these monthly payments without paying extension fees. The program is open to nearly 20,000 customers living in 11 counties in Alabama and Florida that FEMA has declared federal disaster areas.

"We are committed to our customers," said AJ Wagner, President of Ford Credit North America. "We understand that customers living in the affected areas may experience temporary financial problems due to Hurricane Dennis. With our Disaster Relief Program, customers have one less thing to worry about while they rebuild."

Ford Credit and MAC customers who are eligible for the Disaster Relief Program should receive letters within the next week with instructions on how to register. Customers must register by September 22 to qualify. Deferred payments are due at the end of the contract term. Customers who have not received a letter, but believe they qualify, may call Ford Credit toll-free at 1-800-723-4016 or Mazda American Credit, toll-free at 1-800-945-4000.
