Connecticut's Hands-free Legislation Calls for Parrot's Bluetooth Car Kits; Drivers Start Looking for Hands-Free Compliance Options

NEW YORK--June 22, 2005--With legislation requiring drivers to use hands-free devices while talking on the phone, drivers will be scrambling to find the best hands-free accessories before October when legislation is expected to take effect.

Parrot, a world leader in development of Bluetooth(R) car kits, offers several hands-free solutions, including the new portable Easydrive, which simply plugs into any vehicle's cigarette lighter and automatically syncs with your Bluetooth-enabled phone. With Easydrive, there's no headset. The microphone and speaker are built into the portable Plug & Play unit. Easydrive is compatible with most Bluetooth phones regardless of manufacturer or carrier.

Bluetooth is a short-range radio technology that allows you to use your phone, within a radius of about 30 feet, without having to touch it. Your phone can be on the back seat, on the bottom of your purse or in your jacket pocket. Voice activation and voice recognition features allow you to make calls, receive calls, check voicemail and access your phone's address book ... all without touching your phone.

"Easydrive is a convenient, affordable hands-free option for consumers who need to comply with Connecticut's new law," said Christophe Dissaux, Executive Vice President of Parrot, Inc.

Other Parrot products include professionally installed car kits that automatically mute your car radio or CD player and use your speakers for your phone's audio. The CK3000 is the basic low-cost installed Bluetooth(R) car kit, CK3100 includes an easy-to-read LCD with caller ID, and the CK3300 integrates GPS navigation.

Parrot products are available at PalmOne.com, amazon.com, through various retailers or through NiceStuff at 954-929-2524.
