Mexico President Visits New Littelfuse Piedras Negras Mexico Plant

DES PLAINES, Ill.--June 16, 2005--Littelfuse, Inc. today welcomed Vicente Fox, President of Mexico, to the company's new 98,000 square-foot manufacturing plant located in Piedras Negras, Mexico. The visit marked the opening of the new plant and highlighted Littelfuse's dedication to establishing an environment that is conducive to employees and to the culture of lean-manufacturing practices.

"We are very pleased that Littelfuse is continuing its long-term investment in Mexico with the opening of this new, state-of-the art, world-class manufacturing factory," said President Fox. In addition, President Fox praised Littelfuse for its history of investment into the Piedras Negras community, and for its continuing and long term relationship with Mexico, both in Piedras Negras and Matamoros. He acknowledged Littelfuse for its best-in-class lean-manufacturing facility and practices, an initiative that increases production speed, and improves quality while reducing operating costs. Such state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities serve to attract more global manufacturing companies to Mexico.

The new plant produces an extensive range of fuses that are used to protect automotive electrical wiring and electronic devices.
