World's First Purpose-Built Hydrogen Fuel Cell Motorbike
Makes U.S. Debut
Consumers to get "green" with Env as Soon as 2006
WHAT: North American debut of ENV (pronounced ENVY), a hydrogen fuel
cell-powered motorbike that is completely nonpolluting and
virtually silent -- emitting only water vapors that are clean
enough to drink! ENV was designed to showcase the practical
application of hydrogen fuel cells in the real world and is the
first motorbike to be developed from the ground up for this
purpose.
WHEN: Tuesday, June 14 at 9 a.m.
WHERE: Astra West (Third Floor) at the Pacific Design Center
8687 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood, CA 90069
Valet parking provided at the PDC's Melrose entrance.
HOW IT
WORKS: ENV's 8 hp comes from a 6kW electric motor and a compact,
detachable fuel cell stack called CORE. The bike can reach
a top speed of 50 mph in 12.1 seconds and operates for up
to four hours before needing "refueling." The
pre-production motorbike could be available to consumers as
early as 2006.
