STIHL Inc. Gives Away Custom-Made Chopper to Mansfield Resident

MANSFIELD, Ohio, June 11 -- On Saturday, June 11th, a full day of events and giveaways culminated in the awarding of a custom made motorcycle to one lucky winner selected at random from 64,000 entries nationwide. The drawing took place in mid May, and the winner was Mansfield resident, Michael L. Davenport.

Davenport grew up in Mansfield, has been self-employed for 21 years, and is engaged to be married this summer. As he promptly began filling out the entry form for the drawing which he had received in the mail, his fiance, Elaine Jacobs, taunted, "I can't believe you're wasting your time; your chances are one in a million!" To this he replied with a steadfast hope, "you can't win if you don't enter."

Davenport is a former Harley motorcycle owner and long-time bike enthusiast, and after selling his Harley Davidson Ultra Classic 3 years ago, he views the new chopper as a "real godsend." "I've never won anything in my entire life," said Davenport. "It took a couple of days for it to even register in my mind that I had actually won."

Bryan Equipment, a local STIHL distributor, was the onsite sponsor of the event, which was held at Mid-Ohio Gravely in Mansfield, Ohio, and began at 9 am with a number of merchandise giveaways. At noon, the keys to the STIHL Street Boss custom chopper were handed over to Davenport, followed by another series of giveaways to the general public. As an added bonus to visitors, the STIHL IRONJACK Timber Team was onsite, providing demonstrations of what they do best as part of a 32-week tour. This included tree climbing, springboard chop, underhand chop, hot saw, obstacle pole, and log rolling. If audiences still had not had their fill of brute intensity, they were given the chance themselves to participate in tree climbing between shows.

STIHL Inc. had the chopper designed by Iron Core, with the aim of promoting their new product, the TS 700 STIHL Cutquik. It has been named by STIHL as the "Street Boss," which will resemble their Cutquik machine not only in its use of STIHL colors, orange and grey, but with wheels that fashion the same diamond cut as the Cutquik's front concrete-cutting wheel, an air cleaner cover that bears a close resemblance to the Cutquik's fly-wheel cover, and Cutquik shaped wheel guards.
