NEC Electronics America Receives Seventh Consecutive Award From Honda

NEC Electronics America Recognized for 100 Percent On-Time Delivery of Quality Products

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 8 -- NEC Electronics America, Inc. today announced that Honda North America Purchasing has honored the company with its Delivery Performance Award for excellent delivery service and quality of products. The award recognizes suppliers who complete 100 percent delivery of their products on time and whose products meet Honda's quality standard. This is the seventh consecutive year that NEC Electronics America has received this award from Honda. The company also has the distinction of being the first semiconductor supplier to receive it.

"Over the past seven years, NEC Electronics America has demonstrated a consistently high quality of service, as evidenced by the company's 100 percent on-time delivery record for the 2004 calendar year," said Arthur Baldwin, assistant manager, Company Communications, Honda. "We are very pleased with these results and are honored to present NEC Electronics America with this award. NEC Electronics America consistently delivers quality products, and we look forward to building on our relationship in the future."

"As we look toward recovery in today's more cautious economy, we are seeing inventory control, such as forecasting and supply/demand management, play an increasingly larger role in a company's success," said Jim Trent, general manager, automotive strategic business unit, NEC Electronics America. "By working with Honda in terms of its EDI-based inventory forecasting, we were able to meet the high-quality product and delivery supply requirements of the company to provide a perfect on-time delivery record. We thank Honda for recognizing our efforts to provide world-class products and service."
