Ford Motor Unveils New Cars at 2005 Seoul Motor Show

Seoul May 2, 2005; The Korea Times reported that Ford Motor’s new ``Three Musketeers’’ - the Mustang, the Five Hundred and the Freestyle - finally hit the Korean market at the end of last month.

The trio is making their first appearance at the 2005 Seoul Motor Show, which opened to the public Saturday at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINEX) in Koyang City, Kyonggi Province.

Jeff Eggen, Ford’s director of marketing for the Asia-Pacific region, said, ``This will be an excellent opportunity to taste the new levels of technology and design that Ford has achieved through the development of the new cars.’’

Their popularity has been so explosive that there are currently 10,000 units in backlog orders in the United States, he said.

Along with the automotive attractions, the booths, which will be separated for the Ford and Lincoln models, will feature Playstations, through which visitors will have the chance to experience racing in a new Ford Mustang. Mobile phone accessories will be on sale and attractive posters will be given away to children on Children’s Day, which falls on May 5.

Chung Jae-hee, president and CEO of Ford Sales Service Korea, said, ``Ford Korea has designated 2005 as the `year for freshening up the model line-up’ and the Seoul Motor Show will be an excellent opportunity to take a glimpse at what will hit Korean roads in the latter part of this year.

``Visitors will be able to experience firsthand the true value of Ford and Lincoln cars,’’ he added.
