Nissan Displays Full Lineup at Auto Shanghai 2005

Shanghai, China, Apr 21, 2005 - (JCN Newswire) - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (TOKYO: 7201; NASDAQ: NSANY), is displaying a full lineup of vehicles at the 11th Shanghai International Auto Show, a demonstration of the company's commitment to the growing Chinese automobile market. The lineup includes the new TIIDA compact vehicle, the Fuga luxury vehicle and the Quest multi-purpose vehicle. The TIIDA, which went on sale on April 19, is produced at Nissan's joint venture in China, Dongfeng Motor Co. Ltd. (DFL), while the Fuga and the Quest will both be imported into China later this year.

Nissan is also showcasing its newly developed HR16DE engine, which balances driving performance with fuel economy and minimal sound, as well as the high performance VQ35DE engine, the only engine in the world to make Ward's "10 Best Engines" list for the past eleven consecutive years. The HR16DE engine is fitted on the TIIDA and the VQ35DE powers the Teana luxury vehicle.

Highlights at the Nissan booth:

TIIDA - This is the third Nissan model to be produced in China under DFL's business plan 23 (Two Cubed), following the introduction of the Sunny in 2003 and the Teana in 2004. In 2003, Nissan began production of the Sunny, followed by the Teana in 2004. The TIIDA features a surprisingly spacious cabin, modern, premium-quality interior, and balanced ride comfort and dynamic performance.

FUGA - Nissan's new powerful, athletic premium sedan. On sale in Japan since October 2004, the new Fuga has been well received, winning the coveted 'RJC Car of the Year 2005' award from the Automotive Researchers' and Journalists' Conference of Japan. When it goes on sale in China in June 2005, the Fuga will offer Chinese customers an exceptional combination of high quality interior luxury, superior driving performance, and advanced and innovative technological features.

Quest - The Nissan Quest is an intelligent MPV, which redefines the MPV standard. Originally launched in the US as a 2004 model, the Quest will go on sale in China in Autumn 2005. Combining innovative style and car-like performance, the Quest offers the ultimate in versatility, doubling as both a prestige vehicle for business use, and a stylish family people carrier.

Sport Concept - Embodying Nissan's latest dynamic performance and youth concept, the Sport Concept vehicle offers the look and feel of a sports tuner car, yet is conceived as an affordable, attainable vehicle for buyers entering the new car market for the first time.

Zaroot - Zaroot is a show car that underlines Nissan's prominence in the SUV market. It's an authentic 4x4 that delivers genuine off-road agility but with added sporty credentials in an eye-catching body that adopts and adapts many sports car styling features. The result is a dynamic take on how the compact SUV of the future could look.

350Z - The Nissan 350Z is a pure race-bred sports car. With a heritage dating back more than 35 years to the original 1969 Fairlady Z in Japan, the 350Z has become emblematic of the Nissan brand worldwide. Since its global launch in 2002, over 140,000 customers have been seduced by the 350Z's high performance, design and high value.

X-TRAIL FCV - A high-pressure, hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle fitted with a compact, high-performance lithium-ion battery pack, the X-TRAIL FCV has a high-power motor generating maximum power of 85kW, a top speed of 145 km/hour and a cruising range of more than 350km.
