China's Chery - Looking Good at Auto Shanghai 2005

Chery Automobile Co. will introduce five new models at the forthcoming Auto Shanghai 2005 exhibition.

A21: New production-ready model, based on the Seat Toledo-derived FengYun. It will be powered by 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline or a 1.9 TDCi diesel engine. There will be three transmission options: manual, automatic or CVT. It will go on sale later this year. Major dimensions: LxWxH: 4552x1750x1483 mm. Wheelbase: 2600 mm. First/Rear track: 1505 mm. Tires: 287 195/55R15.

M14: "In order to fill the demand for a domestic sportscar Chery introduces its new model which is up to international standards". One of the most eagerly awaited new Chery it was developed with help from Pininfarina. M14 rides on a new platform. Inside bucket seats, a retractable hard-top and a multifunctional steering wheel awaits the driver and passengers. M14 will be powered by Chery's self-produced 1.6 or 2.0-liter engine, mated to manual or CVT gearbox.

B14: Last year this New CrossOver was introduced at the Beijing Autoshow as a prototype, while in Shanghai the production-ready model will be unveiled. It is a 6/7 seater van, powered by 2.4 or 2.0-liter petrol or 1.9 TDCi diesel engines. Major dimensions: LxWxH: 4662x1820x1590 mm. Wheelbase: 2800 mm. (Not illustrated)

B13: B13 joins B14 as a 6-8-seater van. According to Chery this will be a business vehicle, with reconfigurable interior. Major dimensions: LxWxH: 5055x1820x1850 mm. Wheelbase: 3000 mm.

S16: An egg-shaped new citycar.
