APA Names Hi-Tech as Approved Vendor for Engines and Cylinder Heads

LENEXA, Kan., April 6 -- Automotive Parts Associates, Inc. (APA) has granted approved vendor status to Hi-Tech for engines and cylinder heads.

"For some time now, our members have challenged our management team to add a very high quality engine and cylinder head program. While virtually all rebuilders claim to offer O.E. quality, those stringent specifications are rarely achieved. Because the Hi-Tech program is the first aftermarket engine and cylinder head program to bring true automaker quality to the aftermarket, I'm confident that our customers will appreciate the differences. Not only in initial cosmetics and quality, but in long term durability as well" said Bill Cook, Director of Program Development for APA.

Lonnie Mayne, President of Hi-Tech's Factory Engineering Group stated, "The market's quick acceptance of the engine and head program is related to reducing the installers' and jobbers' risk. Past experience has shown them that the possibility of losing their profit and reputation is all too real. After holding focus groups, it became clear that only the highest quality product, built to current factory specs, would be acceptable. For example, no one else we are aware of installs 100% new valves in every head they build. However, that is exactly what you will find in all Hi-Tech branded cylinder heads."

Founded in 1981, APA is a member owned cooperative made up of over 100 independent warehouse distributors and numerous Professional's Choice Tech Centers.

Hi-Tech's engine and cylinder head coverage includes: import and domestic cars and trucks, high-performance, diesel and marine.
