Hyundai Sales Up 11 Percent for March Setting New All-Time Record
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., April 1 -- Hyundai Motor America today announced March sales of 40,063 vehicles, a new record for the month. The results represent an 11 percent increase over March 2004, and a 13 percent increase over the first quarter 2004. Leading the way were Sonata, winner of the J. D. Power Award for Initial Quality in the entry-level mid size segment, which set an all-time monthly record with 11,373 units, and the Tucson entry level SUV which continues to gain momentum with 4,604 sales, also a record.
"We are very pleased with the first quarter results," said Ed Bradley, Hyundai's vice president, national sales. "We achieved a 13 percent increase in a very challenging market. We're poised to continue this momentum as we begin production of the all new 2006 Sonata at our brand new assembly plant in Montgomery, Alabama."
