WaveCrest Showcases Vehicles and Equipment With Efficient, Powerful, and Advanced Electric Propulsion and Drive Systems for a Cleaner Environment at the 26th Bangkok International Motor Show

BANGKOK, Thailand, March 24 -- WaveCrest Laboratories, a leading-edge technology company that is developing and commercializing advanced electric propulsion and drive systems, is making its first appearance at the 26th Bangkok International Motor Show. The motor show starts today and goes through April 3. WaveCrest is showcasing with its Thai manufacturing partners a wide range of vehicles and industrial equipment that is environmentally friendly but does not compromise performance. The exhibit is located in space E-4 on the Concourse Level of the Bangkok International and Trade Centre (BITEC).

WaveCrest plans to partner with leading Thai companies, research institutions and government ministries to commercialize this technology to improve the environment in Thailand and throughout the rest of Asia by "changing the way the world moves(R)."

This partnership will create an efficient, powerful and advanced technology, and a 21st Century industry in Thailand that will have positive economic benefits for the entire nation.

"WaveCrest is all about modern, environmentally clean and efficient electric propulsion systems," said Roy Barbee, the President and CEO of WaveCrest. "We design and deliver to our customers solutions to meet their unique requirements and goals. We are one of the few companies that offer a complete and integrated system of motors, controls and energy system technologies."

Today, transportation accounts for half of the world's annual oil consumption. Also, the power grid that heats, cools and lights our homes, offices and factories is woefully inefficient and wastes up to two-thirds of the fuel burned for these purposes.

WaveCrest's Adaptive Motor(R) system technology uses less electricity and delivers more torque and power density with less heat, noise and fewer emissions than conventional systems. It also recaptures lost energy through regenerative braking.

The patented electric propulsion system is continuously reconfigured by integrated software controls to operate at peak efficiency across a wide speed range.

The WaveCrest Adaptive Motor system is compatible with multiple power sources including gasoline-electric hybrids, fuel cells, batteries and traditional grid power.

"The key is to apply modern software, materials science, and electromechanical design technologies to electric propulsion and industrial systems," Mr. Barbee said. "This is a 21st Century industry and it will be a big one."

WaveCrest has developed propulsion systems for a variety of vehicle applications and industrial equipment that are on exhibit at the 26th Bangkok International Motor Show, including: electric bicycles, electric scooters, an electric wheelchair, an electric roadster, an electric pump motor, and a vertical solid shaft pump motor.

"WaveCrest is committed to achieving the goal of a cleaner environment throughout the world with its powerful and efficient electric propulsion and drive technology that has the proven ability to reduce pollution and lessen our dependence on oil," said WaveCrest President and CEO Barbee.
