Cyclics Supports RAMPF in Development of Tooling Blocks Castings; Cyclics' Plastic Brings Advantages to Cast Block for Prototyping

SCHWARZHEIDE, Germany--March 16, 2005--Cyclics Corporation will supply its new CBT(R) resin to RAMPF Giessharze (www.rampf-giessharze.de), one of the market leaders in the supply of tooling blocks, foam gaskets and casting resins, in the development of a superior cast tooling block material. The tooling blocks can be cut to produce prototype parts for the aerospace and automotive industries. CBT resin brings advantages in strength stiffness, high temperature performance and abrasion resistance. Current tooling block materials, such as polyurethanes, are not able to be recycled after use, but CBT resin, being a thermoplastic, can be re-used in compounding and injection molding applications.

"Cyclics is the ideal partner in accordance with this innovation of CBT(R) resin. With the co-operation we will realize our ideas on new products and strengthen our market position together," said Rudolf Rampf, CEO of the RAMPF Holding.

"We are extremely pleased to work with RAMPF on the development of tooling blocks incorporating CBT resin," added Martin Roesch, Marketing Manager for Cyclics Europe GmbH, "CBT resin has been shown to be a premium casting resin that brings properties to prototypes that rival those of the final part in a broad range of applications."

Cyclics Corporation, headquartered in Schenectady, New York, U.S.A. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Cyclics Europe GmbH, based in Schwarzheide, Germany, manufacture innovative plastics that offer breakthroughs in processing, making new products possible and changing the economics of existing ones. The water-like processing viscosities of Cyclics' engineering thermoplastic products offer improvements in performance and productivity for structural composites, compounding, casting, nanocomposites, coatings and rotational molding. Cyclics has alliances with Ahlstrom Glassfibre Oy, Alcan Composites, BASF, Davy Process Technology, Dow Automotive and The P Group.

Founded in 1980, RAMPF Giessharze is the ideal partner when it comes to special casting resins and foam gaskets. These innovative systems are used in a wide range of applications in several business areas including the automotive industry and its suppliers, aircraft construction, electrical and electronics, filtration and building construction. RAMPF Giessharze forms part of the RAMPF-Group. Operations of the group of companies are based on spearhead competence within reactive resins and a high level of industrial know-how regarding processing and recycling of these materials.
