ACDelco Announces Executive Appointments

GRAND BLANC, MICH. - Doug Herberger, General Motors North America (GMNA) Vice President and General Manager - Service & Parts Operations, announced the appointment of Duane Miller as executive director, GM Service and Parts Business Channels. In this assignment, Miller, executive director, GM Parts business channel, assumes the additional responsibility for the ACDelco business channel. Miller replaces Scott Mackie, who has held the position of executive director, ACDelco since 2001. Mackie will become the regional general manager for the GMNA Vehicle Sales, Service, and Marketing (VSSM) Northeast region. These moves are effective April 1.

Miller will lead the continuing efforts to drive common processes and leverage resources across the ACDelco and GM Parts channels. He also will have responsibility for SPO Canada and Mexico, as well as International Operations. In his new assignment, he will continue to report to Herberger.

"I am committed to executing ACDelco's value proposition and collaborating with our entire customer base to grow the business," Miller said. "My more than 27 years' ACDelco experience, combined with the extensive experience and expertise within our team, will be applied to help ACDelco retain its position as the global leader in the automotive aftermarket."

To drive revenue growth and bolster the customer base, GMSPO is realigning its ACDelco, GM Parts and GM Accessories field sales teams under two general sales managers: George Gulliver and Rick LaBelle. These moves also are effective April 1. Working with parts managers in five U.S. regions, Gulliver and LaBelle will be accountable for growing ACDelco, GM Parts and GM Accessories sales, and improving satisfaction among Dealers, Dedicated Distribution Group (DDG) members, and Accessory Distributor Installers (ADIs).

Two additional ACDelco executive appointments will be effective April 1.

Mike Durkin, ACDelco Regional Sales Manager, is named Director, New Business Development, ACDelco. This position will have responsibility for the DDG Network, International Operations and SPO's Automotive Aftermarket Strategy Board process.

Jeff Spitzer, ACDelco Regional Sales Manager, will replace Gary Klindt as Director, Product Service Training and Warranty. Klindt is retiring after more than 31 years of service.

"These changes respond to feedback we received from customers to improve collaboration between our business channels and focus our efforts on what we can do, together, to be the best parts and service supplier in the aftermarket," Miller said. "We're committed to making the transition as smooth as possible and responding to the dynamic needs of the marketplace."
