First Volume Model Equipped With Portable Car Navigator As Standard

Ruesselsheim. Martch 10, 2005; The Opel Corsa family has an attractive new feature: beginning in April, as part of a pan-European campaign, the Corsa Edition special model will be the first volume car fitted with a portable GPS navigation system as standard. The TomTom GO 300 navigation system can be easily transferred from one car to another, is very easy to operate, instantly ready to use ("plug & go") and makes the extensively equipped Corsa Edition an agile route-finder. A digital street map of the owner´s home country is pre-installed, while maps for other countries or special points of interest are available via Internet. A built-in bluetooth function enables use of special services (TomTom "service plus") via mobile phone for download e.g. real-time traffic and weather information or city maps. Clear route guidance is provided by 3D or 2D displays with day and night variations on a 3.5-inch color touch-screen, complemented by clear, easy-to-understand spoken instructions, for which a choice of language and voices is available.

The Corsa Edition with the TomTom GO navigation system can be ordered as of March 12, with prices beginning at 12.430 euro (recommended retail price ex-works incl. VAT). The special model, available with three or five-doors and with all Corsa engines, comes with extensive standard equipment including the portable navigation system, air conditioning and a stereo-cassette-radio. Compared to a similarly equipped base model, customers enjoy a price advantage of 2410 euro.
