DTE Energy to Host Feb. 15 Alternative Energy Conference

DETROIT, Feb. 1, 2005 -- Robert Stempel, chairman and CEO of Energy Conversion Devices Inc., will be one of the keynote speakers at the Sixth Annual DTE Energy Conference and Exhibition in Livonia.

Stempel will discuss the future of electric vehicles at the conference, which will address alternative energy and best practices for energy efficiencies.

Registration will begin at 7 a.m. Feb. 15 with sessions running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Laurel Manor & Conference Center.

Other speakers include Joseph Bibeau, group director of General Motors Corp. Worldwide Facilities Energy & Utility Services, who will talk about GM's use of landfill methane gas and the application of fuel cell electricity generation using waste hydrogen.

Energy management, conservation and using alternative fuels to competitive advantage will be some of the other topics addressed at the conference.
