Fujitsu Signs FlexRay License Agreement with Bosch

Tokyo (JCNN) - Fujitsu announced January 26 that it has signed with Bosch to license the German company's FlexRay Communication Controller IP-Module. Fujitsu will incorporate the IP into its next-generation automotive control microcontrollers (MCUs).

FlexRay boasts its high data transfer rates of up to 10Mbps, bringing Fujitsu???fs MCUs better performance with reliability. The company plans to release its first FlexRay-enabled MCU in early 2006.

Beyond the current offering of MCUs that support CAN (Controller Area Network) and LIN (Local Interconnect Network) protocols, Fujitsu will expand its MCU product lineup using the FlexRay technology.
