LAS VEGAS--Jan. 2, 20054, 2005--Mobile Productivity Inc. (MPi), a premier automotive repair information and service merchandising provider, announced today the acquisition of Automotive Information System (AIS), a wholly owned subsidiary of CSK Auto Inc. AIS is based in St. Paul, Minn., and is the provider of an automotive repair hotline and online diagnostic information system.

Founded in 1987, AIS markets its products and services under the brand name IDENTIFIX(TM). These products and services include: a technical hotline serving more than 10,000 independent automotive repair shops; the Repair Trac(TM) Service Bulletins; consulting services to automotive equipment manufacturers; and its 2003 MOTOR TOP 20 Tool Award winning online diagnostic information system Direct-Hit(TM).

Les Silver, CEO/president of MPi, said, "MPi is excited to bring together two highly innovative companies that will cohesively enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and profitability of the automotive service industry. The core competencies of the two companies are very complementary. Together, we can create a range of product and services that are unmatched in the industry."

"I'm very excited to join MPi and work together to provide the highest level of solutions to the automotive service industry," said Jeff Sweet, president of AIS. IDENTIFIX(TM) employs 35 ASE Master Technicians whose expertise covers all makes and models. IDENTIFIX(TM)'s highly specialized and unique diagnostic information database is based on real-life repair scenarios that are constantly being updated with approximately 1,000 new solutions each week. IDENTIFIX(TM) also tracks problems reported by technicians on eight major vehicle systems providing the only source of technician-authenticated vehicle reliability reports. "By adding IDENTIFIX(TM) reliability data into the MPi's Quick Service (ARGIS/QS(TM)) system, MPi will now be able to identify components likely to fail, allowing a targeted vehicle maintenance service unlike any in the industry. This will provide vehicle owners with peace of mind and savings through better preventative maintenance," said Sweet.

Sweet will continue to lead Identifix as the president of the IDENTIFIX(TM) division of MPi. The IDENTIFIX(TM) technical staff will remain situated at the St. Paul office, while the telesales group will be located at the MPi corporate headquarters in Las Vegas.
