Subaru Extends and Expands Relationship With the National Gardening Association

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Jan. 19, 2005 -- Subaru of America, Inc. is pleased to announce today that it will extend and expand its relationship with the National Gardening Association (NGA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the benefits of gardening. Under the terms of the partnership, Subaru will again be the official vehicle of the NGA and National Garden Month in April of this year. In addition, Subaru will sponsor the Subaru Get Gardening Giveaway program. A new addition to the program for 2005 includes the Give A Garden Community Beautification Kit that NGA will offer as an opportunity for Subaru Dealers to use at their dealerships, or to donate to a park, community project or school.

As part of the National Garden Month(R) 2005 Give A Garden - Add Beauty to Life, a program designed by NGA to celebrate the power that plants have to change lives. Subaru will sponsor the Get Gardening Giveaway. Subaru will provide one Grand Prize with an estimated value of $1,000 and five Second Prizes, with each winner receiving a $500 gift certificate. There will also be 75 Third Prizes, with each winner receiving a gift certificate of $100 to the NGA Garden Shop to buy plants, tools, and supplies for their gardening needs, as well as a free 12-month membership in NGA.

"Subaru is very pleased to extend and expand its relationship with NGA," said Tim Bennett, director of marketing programs, Subaru of America, Inc. "Subaru shares in the NGA's philosophy that gardening has the power to transform environments, communities and individuals, and we are particularly excited about increasing the opportunities for dealers to get involved this year with the new Give A Garden Community Beautification Kits."

The Subaru Get Gardening Giveaway program will be featured on http://www.nationalgardenmonth.org/ and http://www.garden.org/, the official site of the NGA.

This year, the NGA will also provide a new opportunity to Subaru dealers, the Give A Garden Community Beautification Kit. This kit will include two 42"x18"x20" low-maintenance raised planters, an easy-to-grow flower seed collection, garden designs and materials list, and copper plant markers. Dealers may purchase kits directly from NGA and NGA will provide drop ship services to participating dealers.

Subaru Commitment to the Outdoors

When a Subaru is seen driving down the road or at the trailhead, chances are it will be loaded with a kayak, canoe, mountain bike, skis or snowboard. That's because Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive provides drivers with superior performance in all types of conditions - essential for transporting outdoor sports enthusiasts to the river, the mountains and those "off the beaten path" destinations with safety and confidence. Together with its partners, Subaru hosts hundreds of outdoor events each year from coast to coast. This approach helps Subaru learn more about its customers' interests, and enables the company to demonstrate how Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive can complement their active lifestyles. Because of this commitment, many refer to Subaru as the official vehicle of the outdoors.
